I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix : j+ k; r6 S s& r; j7 y9 T" W; R' `8 f' O% ]/ j- h8 a- D" Q7 V I
